This is the last week of our CSA. The fun thing about the CSA is that this week's haul looks like winter, which is appropriate, but whoa. It's right there in the fridge. Winter.
Carrots.
Eggs.
Something green. I almost want to guess napa, because it's the right color and the leaves are the right texture, but in my mind that's a tight head, and this is a loose head. Any guesses? It's funny to me that after half a year of this, this is the week I get the unfamiliar veg.
Kale. Lacinato, but posing as squid. In fact, I call this one, "Lacinato as squid."
Root veg. Yes, there are carrots here and carrots above, but these were in a separate bag, what with the root veg and all. Turnips, parsnips.
Taters.
And there it is, my CSA haul for 2011. Forgive the composition, but you try to arrange 24 tiny layers in Photoshop in 10 minutes. Nyah.
I'm already longing for the days of garlic scapes.
Anyone who can identify my light green thing, let me know, and anyone with an idea for the root veg other than just roasting 'em up, let me know. Thanks!
