Buying Club 2011 - The Goods - Week 9

Ok, so a week ago I thought I'd find some clever way to do the buying club posts, and honestly, there's been a holiday and whatnot and so instead of being clever, I've come to terms with it.  You may not seek these posts out.  That's cool.  But I'll have them there to refer back to at least for the local folks ("wherever does she get that fluffy kale?")

So here's this week's haul.

I ordered blue potatoes because they sounded exciting.  Blue, right?  Pretty cool.  No good reason why.

I had to get past the fact that they look like hippopotomuses (a word I can apparently neither spell nor Google), and look at the awesome blueness of the inside.

Also cabbage.  I don't remember ordering cabbage, but I must have, and whoa is this a lot of cabbage.  I welcome your cabbage ideas.  All I ever do is egg rolls

The world's best yogurt - I'm not messing around here, and some milk and butter.

A few prepared foods... great local hummus, popcorn (I ordered this long enough ago that I thought I'd have made the first batch of popcorn by now.  Soon.) and Chow Chow.   Chow Chow is one of those things, like scrapple, that the strange people of Pennsylvania eat.  I've been looking at it for years - fairly tired looking vegetables, all jammed in a jar, but I don't know, this time I thought I'd give it a shot.  I haven't yet but I'll keep you posted.

Brussels sprouts and lettuce.

Butternut squash, spinach and collards.

Why yes, I got new lights, and yes, I didn't do anything about a backdrop.  This blog is about honest pictures of vegetables and the cords and plugs that light them.
